Ok, it's all over now, January 1st has come and gone and we're still standing. The electricity is still working, the water is flowing and business seems to be running as usual. So everything went well right? We shouldn't let our guards down now. We need to look into the unforeseen bugs that are laying dormant and undiscovered. Those are the ones that will probably cause the most havoc. We won't be out of the storm until at least another six months. It's interesting to note the uneducated spin that the media has been putting on the whole issue. Instead of congratulating all of those hard working Y2K specialists for a job well done, they're now questioning whether the costs involved was necessary! Hello? Is there any intelligent life on TV these days? Thousands of networks, servers, desktops and legacy hardware and software had been evaluated and fixed. Now, because it was done so well, you're going to question where it should have been taken seriously? I'll never understand these guys. Anything to make a story I guess. Well, WE would like to thank all of those dedicated individuals for their vigilance in uncovering what could have POTENTIALLY been the worst problem to face modern civilization. Because of their efforts, we can turn a switch on and EXPECT to see light! Your work hasn't gone unnoticed. |
